Jonathan Crompton Feature
Crompton’s playing the best football of his career in the second half of the season. In his last six games, he’s completed 114 of 194 passes for 1,473 yards with 16 touchdowns and only two interceptions. His 23 touchdown passes to this point are more than Peyton Manning threw in three of his four seasons at Tennessee.
But the journey hasn’t been easy. (more)

Jonathan, I owe you a huge apology. I for one had little faith in your ability to lead the team this year; I based my opinion on last year’s overall performance. I saw you take an emotional and physical beating. Your character has shown what a remarkable person and athlete you are. I can’t imagine the emotional roller coaster you must have been on during your time at the Univeristy of Tennessee.
I am truly happy for your successes this year. You deserve the reward and credit for all your hard work and dedication to the Vol nation. I hope this year translates into successes at the next level of your life and career. We as fans, should have shown as much charater in the support of you as you have shown in the support of the University of Tennessee.
Respectully,
Donny
I will give Jonathan Crompton credit for starting Tennessee’s turnaround. He is the most courageous and loyal Tennessee Vol of all time to put up with and to persevere through all that has been heaped upon his shoulders. If the NFL is looking for a quarterback that will not fold and who has already been through the fire, who is a top notch athlete and talent, Crompton will be drafted and I predict he will show us all that he is THE MAN.
he is truly showing his worth. I think he will be a steal in the draft
Jonathan I just want to say thank you. Thank you for never giving up even when you had to endure the wrath of the fans. It just goes to show your coaches know alot more than the fans when it comes to talent.
You have my respect and my admiration for not only your perserverance but also your not being ashamed nor afraid to speak of your faith in God. I hope to see you playing on Sundays in the NFL. I know if anyone has earned the right to it is you.
Good luck and may God Bless you. You are what a true Vol should be.
Thank you Jonathan you are a true Vol.
Best of luck in everything you do.
May God be with you .
NFL should be lucky to have you.
Jonathan = the foundation of a championship team in the making
Jonathon = Hard work
Jonathan = Never give up on your dream
Jonathan = Tennessee Football
I couldnt be more proud of jonathan crompton, Watching him have success is a great thing to see…GO VOLS
I am so glad you have stuck it out this season and that you are coming into your own. I know it could not have been easy at first (understated), but I hope you are enjoying your accomplishments now. This is the first season that I have really watched VOL football and I am Loving It. I hope you are Loving This Season Too! God Bless in everything you do!
Jonathan, You are good at football!?!? Seriously though… You make me proud to be a Tenessee Volunteer fan. You and Eric are polar opposites in the situations that you have been faced with. However, as he handles “good press” with grace, humility and temerity, you handled “bad press” with class and conviction and then performed on a level equivalent to any of the great College QB. Perhaps one day when one of my children have a bad day or bad game, I will tell them a story about Jonathan Crompton. A story about meating adversity and overcoming. A story about true character. And most of all… A story about wisdom and an unwavering willingness to learn from your mistakes in your pursuit of excellence. Here’s wising you 3 more big wins in Volunteer Orange.
You are a great role model for all of us as to how to carry yourself in adverse times. You should be very proud….for what it is worth….I am very proud you are a VOL.
People always brag about someone in the pros. who made a big play, but at the same time they have no character. Jon I will be the first to admit I was complaining. I am just so passionate about TN VOLS football. I just wanted them to win. I had little faith in your ability, we all felt that way. All we could see was someone in the uniform taking the snaps. We could not see the huge spirit and determination that laid inside the person under the number 8, but now we know and we will never forget your outstanding christian character and determination. You will be an asset to anyone who is a part of your life. God will bless you through your hard work and determination. You are a true HERO!!!
GO VOLS
Jonathan:
I really admire you. The dedication, determination and character you have shown is more than Tennessee fans deserve. I admire you for the way you have survived through the negative comments and now come out on top. I hope you receive the praise you have earned. I am proud of you and the Christian character you have shown. Good luck!!
Hey man I was one of the skeptics from the last year and a half watching you at tennesseee just like a lot of other people we loose sight at what really matters in life to have a young man like yourself go through what you went through while here at the University of Tennessee very few people on this Earth could have even kept there head held high and accomplish what you have accomplished this year I am so glad you are at
Tennessee I just wished you were here another year because you have a good head on your shoulders and you have to have a good heart because you perservered through so many trials I wish you well and hope you get what you want out of life. Thanks for being a true Volunteer.
Jonathan – We are so proud of you! You’ve earned this and it couldn’t go to a nicer guy.
All your dedication and hard work over the many years has certainly paid off. We know how happy David, Janet and Brooke are for you. Best wishes for your future and hope to see you when you are in Asheville.
Joni & Kay Davis
Jonathan, I freaking love you man.
way to go vols, and to you jonathon you have become such a good leader and you can see on the field how your team respects and plays hard for you.
Jonathon- I have watched every game I could watch, just like when you were in high school ! You ALWAYS looked good on the field to me! But what I caught during a recent game, was someone on the sideline handing you some water, and you said “thank you”. Now, that is true character! We are all proud of you, Jonathon. Never doubted you for even a minute.
Jonathon,
you brought back the TENNESSEE SPIRIT with your commitment and dertermination to lead the Vols in you last year as quaterback here. You showed courage in the face of adversity, leadership in the face of dispare, and love in the face of God. You gave us a lot to cheer for and made us proud to be Tennessee Vol fans. You remind us that excellence has to be worked for and hard work pays off!
Good luck in the future. God Bless you.
Thank God that Jonathon Crompton finally got the opportunity to learn an offense instead of having to worry about playing time. He has shown most of the Vol Nation that they were wrong about him. Crompton showed this season that hard work and never giving up will pay off. It would have been real easy for him to give up early in the season but he continued to work hard and put in the extra time to learn the offense and show how talented he truly is. He has showed the same talent that I knew he had when I watched his first career start on a cold night in Fayettville, Arkansas. I am so proud that he is ending his career at Tennessee on such a high note. Thank you Jonathon Crompton for your hard work and dedication, it has truly been an honor to watch you overcome the hard times and prevail into the elite SEC quarterback that you are. Good luck in the future. I hope it starts with a chance in the NFL it is your dream and you have worked hard for it continue what you have done and only good things can be instored for you in the future.
